Memory Care in the North Sound

When someone you love is living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, finding the right care can feel urgent and overwhelming. We help families understand their options and find a setting that keeps their loved one safe, engaged, and treated with dignity.

Two Main Types of Memory Care in Washington

Memory care communities. Assisted living communities with a secured memory care neighborhood, specially trained staff, and structured daily activities.

Adult family homes with a dementia specialty. Small, home-like settings that care for just a handful of residents. They often offer more one-on-one attention, can handle higher care needs, and some accept Medicaid.

Signs It May Be Time

  • Getting lost, wandering, or trying to leave home

  • Safety worries, such as leaving the stove on or unsafe driving

  • Missed medications or meals

  • Sleepless nights, agitation, or other changes in behavior

  • A family caregiver who is exhausted, or home care that’s no longer enough

What We Look at for You

Secure exits and outdoor space, staff dementia training, how residents spend their day, which behaviors a provider can manage, the true monthly cost and how it may grow, whether Medicaid is accepted now or later, and each provider’s state inspection record.

How We Help

We personally tour the memory care communities and adult family homes we recommend, and revisit each one at least once a year. We’ll recommend the options that fit your loved one, go on tours with you, and help with the move.
